VIVAWEST, one of the leading housing providers in North Rhine-Westphalia has created in cooperation with the ubisys technologies GmbH 89 unique residential units at Hermannshöhe in Bochum. The flats are particularly characterized by their high level of comfort and modernity. Due to its proximity to the city center, the 5600 m² large area with its seven buildings appeals to singles, couples, and families who value a central and quiet location with a high standard of living. All residential units are equipped with a preconfigured ubisys Smart Home System. The components installed by ubisys fit seamlessly into the high-quality furnishings of the property and create a completely new living experience.

In order to make it easier for residents to use their Smart Homes, ubisys’ technical support team designed the on-site building control system in advance. The installer named all the components before he integrated them into the Smart Home network of the respective flat. All components are already named by the installer and integrated into the Smart Home network of the respective flat. In this way, all devices can be put into operation immediately after moving in and the tenants enjoy the full comfort of the building control system.

The ubisys Universal Dimmers D1 installed in the flush-mounted boxes in the living and dining area, as well as in the open kitchen provide a high feel-good factor. Tenants can individually define device states in advance e.g. a light switching on level of 70%. In the ubisys Smart Home app properties can be conveniently set and called up under “Scenes”. Due to the pre-installed scenes such as “fire/burglary”, the ubisys Smart Home System offers advantages over a conventional alarm system in terms of security. The windows and doors equipped with magnetic contacts and the intelligent motion sensor in the entrance area protect against unauthorized entry.
In the event of an attempted break-in, the resident immediately receives push messages via the ubisys Smart Home app on his smartphone if the “out of home” state is activated. To receive push messages in the event of an attempted break-in via app, the resident has to set an “out of home” state in the ubisys Smart Home app or on the alarm keypad. When the scene is triggered, all blinds raise immediately, and each luminaire switches on. At the same time, all smoke alarms in the flat emit an alarm tone.
If necessary, the tenant can track activities taking place in the flat even when he is not present, as he can view the status of the integrated devices in the app.

When moving in, ubisys has already pre-installed a link for the tenants. All in the flat installed luminaires operate easily via a central switch located next to the entrance door. So the tenants are guaranteed never to forget to switch off the light when leaving their home.
