In the past, ubisys has implemented and supported many pioneering projects in the smart building sector with its product and service solutions – in both the commercial and private sectors. Internationally renowned customers such as Hong Kong Telecom, VIVAWEST (one of the leading housing providers in North Rhine-Westphalia) or the Økern Portal (one of Norway’s largest building complexes) have opted for the premium Smart Home components from ubisys.
The various projects are characterized by their versatility and complexity. Whether a luxury property, neighborhood project, single-family home or office and commercial building, ubisys was able to meet the client’s requirements at all times. In addition to simple applications such as the smart control of blinds via smartphone/tablet or the installation of intelligent door/window contacts to increase security in the building, far more complex solutions in the field of smart lighting were also designed and successfully implemented with the help of ubisys components.
For example, as part of a cooperation with the established lighting planner and system integrator Glamox, a lighting management system was implemented in Økern Portal (Norway) that focused on the attributes of intelligence, efficiency and sustainability. By integrating state-of-the-art sensor technology, temperature, humidity, daylight intensity and room occupancy were recorded and used for an automated daylight simulation (Human Centric Lighting) to increase the well-being and performance of visitors/employees.
In terms of the network scalability of Zigbee components, some of the reference projects are unparalleled. In the Økern portal, for example, over 7,500 light nodes are monitored and controlled using 250 ubisys Gateways G1.
